Own Art with a 0% loan

Own Art is designed to make buying art easy and affordable. Following a pilot in 2004 with nine member galleries, the Scottish Arts Council has now extended the Scheme to selected galleries including Stenton.

The scheme covers a wide range of art including paintings, sculpture, photography, metalwork, ceramics, glass, furniture, textiles and prints.

Loans are available from as little as £100 up to £2,000. The loan amount can go towards a work of art that costs more than £2,000 and it is possible to buy several items at a time or one or more items at different times in different galleries providing the total amount you owe does not exceed £2,000.

The amount you borrow is then paid back over ten months in equal amounts. There are no extra costs. There is no charge for the credit (APR 0%). This means the total amount payable under the loan, and the deposit, is not more than the cash price of the pieces(s) of work you purchased. There is no administrative charge or handling fee.
